If you haven’t checked out part one of this series go do so! But I’m back to share 6 more of my fav (easy to digest) anime’s for beginners and this time I rated them notice how I only watch bangers lol ;) . One thing I will say is check the trigger warning for a few of these shows because they can get heavy at times and I wouldn’t want anyone to get caught off guard by the content but nevertheless these are some of my comfort shows and I hope you enjoy them if you choose to check any of them out 🩷
... Read moreStepping into the vast and vibrant world of anime can be super exciting, but also a little overwhelming! When I first started my anime journey, I found myself constantly asking, 'What anime should I watch?' or 'Which anime are good for beginners?' It felt like there were endless options, and knowing where to start was the biggest hurdle. That's why I truly believe focusing on 'easy-to-digest' series is key to a great introduction.
These types of anime are fantastic because they often have engaging, straightforward storylines without too many complex lore dumps or hundreds of episodes. They make the anime experience accessible and enjoyable from the get-go. For instance, if you're into heartwarming romance with a touch of comedy, series like Maid Sama! are fantastic starters. Who doesn't love a good enemies-to-lovers trope, especially when it's as charming as Usui and Misaki's dynamic? It's a classic for a reason!
Then there are shows that blend fantasy with deep emotional narratives, much like *Fruits Basket*. This series tackles serious themes but wraps them in a beautiful story about acceptance and family, making it incredibly impactful even for new viewers. The character development in series like this is truly top-tier, and you'll find yourself rooting for them from episode one. Similarly, a poignant drama like Your Lie in April beautifully combines music and emotion, proving that anime can tell incredibly moving stories that resonate deeply.
Beyond specific shows, I've learned a few things that can make your beginner anime experience even better. Firstly, don't be afraid to explore different genres! You might think you only like action, but then you stumble upon a sports anime like Free! Dive to the Future with its stunning animation and character bonds, and suddenly you're hooked! Or perhaps a bit of mystery and historical intrigue in a palace setting, like *The Apothecary Diaries*, will capture your attention with its clever protagonist.
Secondly, and this is super important, always remember to check for trigger warnings. As the original post mentioned, some anime, even if 'easy to digest' in pacing, can deal with heavy themes. It's always good to be prepared so you can enjoy the story without unexpected discomfort. For those who like a darker fantasy with intense action, Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign could be a perfect entry point, giving you that thrill without overwhelming you with a massive world to learn.
One thing I love about starting with these types of anime is that they often have relatively straightforward plots or character arcs that are easy to follow. You won't get lost in decades of lore or hundreds of episodes right off the bat. They are like a warm welcome to the anime community, showing you what amazing storytelling and art can be found there. For example, the humor and relatability in a high school setting, even with fantasy elements, can make it incredibly engaging. Think about how a simple scene, like 'What? Hori actually came to school?', can instantly set a lighthearted tone and draw you into the character dynamics.
Finally, remember that anime is a journey of discovery. There are thousands of amazing stories out there. Don't feel pressured to watch the 'most popular' ones immediately. Start with what genuinely piques your interest. Whether it’s a feel-good romance, an epic fantasy, or a slice-of-life comedy, there’s an anime out there waiting to become your next 'comfort show.' Happy watching!
