Ballet intensive day 2 💗🩰
Super long, super fun day!! We did contemporary yesterday morning and it was tough! A great food day, those tacos were scrumptious!! And I love aquariums!! I had to remove my breakfast and mid class snack bc I ran out of slides
Attending a ballet intensive, especially something as immersive as the Ballet Academy of Charleston intensive, truly pushes your physical and mental limits. Contemporary dance, as I experienced on Day 2, can be particularly demanding because it requires not just strength and flexibility but also a deep connection to the emotion and flow of movement. It’s normal to feel exhausted but accomplished after such intense sessions. One thing I learned firsthand during this experience is the importance of pacing yourself, especially with meals and energy management. Running out of slides during class was a wake-up call to plan snacks wisely around demanding practice times. Enjoying local foods, like the scrumptious tacos and street corn, added a cultural richness to the day and was a great way to refuel. When breaks come, exploring local attractions like aquariums or Charleston’s unique haunted carriage tours offers a perfect mental reset from vigorous training. It’s incredible how combining intense physical activity with moments of leisure and discovery helps balance the body and mind. For fellow adult ballet dancers or anyone considering an intensive program, I highly recommend embracing the full experience—dance, food, and local culture—to get the most out of the journey.

This looks like a great time, and you look so happy!
