A Prayer for My Unborn Child
Heavenly Father,
I come before You with a heart full of gratitude and hope, lifting up the life growing within me. Thank You for the gift of this child—fearfully and wonderfully made by Your hands. I ask, Lord, that You surround my womb with divine protection and let Your presence rest upon us both.
I pray for my baby’s health—mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Let his mind be sharp and filled with wisdom beyond his years. May his emotions be grounded in peace, joy, and security. Let his spirit be sensitive to Your voice and his heart drawn to Your truth from the beginning. Strengthen every bone, every organ, every cell. Let him grow in perfect health under Your care.
Father, I pray for the purpose You have planted in him. Even now, shape his destiny according to Your will. Let him rise up as a light in this world—a vessel of hope, compassion, and strength. May he walk boldly in the calling You have placed on his life and never doubt his worth or value in Your eyes.
Lord, I also lift up the desire of my heart to raise him in a loving, two-parent household. You know the longings within me, and I trust You with the desires of my heart. I pray for unity, love, and commitment between his parents, built on You as our foundation.
Right now, I ask that my HCG levels continue to rise. Let every test confirm life and growth. I pray for a smooth, healthy pregnancy and a safe, joyful delivery. Let my body be a safe haven, and give me strength, grace, and peace through every stage of this journey.
Cover us, O God. Let no weapon formed against this life prosper. I surrender this child and this season to You, trusting You completely.

A lot is happening in the prayer but a lot happens in life. I created this prayer when I found out I was expecting again after previous miscarriages. Reading this again makes me cry because conceiving after a uterine rupture wasn’t in my plans but finding out I was pregnant was bittersweet. I almost died giving birth to my 4th child and didn’t really want anymore yet a life was forming inside of me and all I could think of was being pregnant again and carrying my little person in my arms and a whole fairytale I created in my head to miscarry; I felt broken. Nevertheless, I pray this helps someone else that is experiencing this and may your womb be covered by the blood of Jesus. May he heal what was once deemed broken and renew its strength to be able to sustain life within. Amen!
