SUMMER ACTIVITY: Beach with your toddler

One of our favorite toddler summer activities is going to the beach—it’s become our go-to spot now that my toddler is a little older and more active. He absolutely loves it! We bring along a bunch of beach toys we picked up at Dollar Tree—buckets, shovels, and little molds—and he can spend hours digging and building sandcastles.

He also loves the simple things, like throwing rocks into the water, watching the airplanes fly by, and feeling the sand under his feet. That sensation alone keeps him smiling and curious. It’s such a great sensory experience for toddlers.

One of the sweetest parts of our beach trips is seeing him interact with other kids his age. He gets so excited to run around and play with them, even if they’ve just met. We always pack plenty of snacks to keep him fueled, and we usually spend a solid two or more hours just playing, exploring, and enjoying the sun.

It’s such a simple, affordable way to make memories together, and I love watching him discover more about the world around him each time we go.

Taking a toddler to the beach can be a delightful experience filled with exploration and adventure.
