Protein balls 🥜
• 1 3/4 cup Oats
• 3/4 cup Peanut butter
• 1/3 cup Honey
• 1/3 cup Mini chocolate chips
Mix all of the ingredients together in a mixing bowl. (Melting the peanut butter for about 20 seconds helps with mixing) Form the dough into whatever sized balls you prefer 😉 and then let them harden in the refrigerator for about an hour, before transferring to a storage bag 😋

I absolutely love making homemade protein balls, and this simple protein balls recipe is one of my all-time favorites! I mean, who doesn't need a quick, healthy snack that actually tastes good? I started making my own protein balls a few years ago because I was tired of expensive, processed store-bought options. Plus, it’s so satisfying to know exactly what goes into your food! These oat and peanut butter protein balls are fantastic for so many reasons. For me, they’re the perfect grab-and-go snack when I’m busy or need a little energy boost before or after a workout. They’re packed with good stuff like fiber from the oats and healthy fats and protein from the peanut butter, which helps keep me full and satisfied until my next meal. And the honey isn't just for sweetness; it also acts as a natural binder, holding everything together perfectly. When I first tried making protein balls, I worried they'd be complicated, but this recipe truly is simple. My biggest tip for beginners? Don't skip melting the peanut butter! Just 20 seconds in the microwave makes a huge difference in how easily everything mixes. Trust me, it saves so much arm work! I also find that using a cookie scoop helps make uniform balls, which is great for portion control, but really, any size works. I usually make them bite-sized so I can pop one or two whenever I feel peckish. One of the best things about this homemade protein balls recipe is how adaptable it is. While I adore the classic chocolate chip version, I've played around with so many variations. Sometimes I swap out the chocolate chips for dried cranberries or shredded coconut for a different flavor profile. If I'm feeling extra adventurous, I'll add a pinch of cinnamon or a tiny bit of vanilla extract to the mix – it really elevates the taste! You could also try adding some flax seeds or chia seeds for an extra nutritional punch. For a nut-free version, I've heard sunflower seed butter works great instead of peanut butter, though I haven't personally tried it yet. After they've firmed up in the fridge, I store my protein balls in an airtight container or a Ziploc bag. They last about a week in the refrigerator, which makes them perfect for meal prepping at the start of the week. That way, I always have a healthy option on hand when hunger strikes. Honestly, these homemade protein balls are a game-changer for anyone looking for an easy, nutritious, and delicious snack. Give this recipe a try, and let me know what variations you come up with!
