Today, I am abundantly grateful for all of the service men and women who have fought to protect our freedom.
I am grateful for all men and women who have advocated for change and those who have pushed for progress.
Our nation has evolved over 250 years as we continue to work to make her a beacon of hope and opportunity for everyone.
We are often reminded of those who signed the Declaration of Independence, but this morning I also thought of the millions of Americans who quite literally built this country, whose names we will never know because they were never signed to a paper or put on the front of a building.
This country is beautiful because of its people, because of its diversity, and because of the constant belief that we can still do better. As we learn from our mistakes, callout injustice, and ask the questions hard questions of how we can make a better nation for our children, I pray we do not lose hope but believe that liberty and justice is still for all. ❤️❤️❤️

Throughout American history, countless individuals, often unnamed and unrecognized, have contributed to building the nation’s foundation. Their hard work and resilience paved the way for the freedoms and opportunities we cherish today. Recognizing this, I’ve learned it’s essential to value diversity and to remain committed to progress in equity and justice. In my journey, embracing patriotism involves honoring not just historic figures like the Founding Fathers who signed the Declaration of Independence but also everyday heroes—service members, advocates for change, and community members who strive to improve our society. Their efforts remind us that liberty is not static; it requires constant vigilance and hope. Moreover, living patriotism means engaging in meaningful conversations about our nation’s challenges and acknowledging the hard truths related to injustice and inequality.
