Best way to edit your photos ✨🌸

Want to make your photos pop without there being an obvious filter?

I think I found the best way to do that:)

Here’s what I did broken down:

Exposure 10

Brilliance 10

Highlights -25

Shadows -5

Contrast -10

Brightness -10

Saturation 20

Vibrance 20

screenshot and save this for later!!

These settings will vary a little bit for each photo, so don’t be afraid to play around with it a little bit!! 🤠

Let me know if this helped at all:)) 🥰🫶🏻✨

... Read moreOkay, so you've seen my go-to settings, but let's dive a little deeper into why these numbers work their magic and how you can adapt them for your own amazing shots! I remember spending ages trying different filters and presets, only to feel like my photos looked... well, filtered. My goal was always to make my pictures pop naturally, like the vibrant turquoise water and palm trees you see in my examples, without making it obvious I'd edited them. Think of these settings as your secret weapon, especially if you're often wondering, 'how much should I put' for each adjustment. Here’s a breakdown of what each one does and why I settled on these specific values: Exposure (10): This is your overall light control. I start with +10 because it gives a lovely base brightness without blowing out details. If your photo is already super bright, you might go with less, or even negative if it's overexposed. But for most everyday shots, a little boost here makes a world of difference. Brilliance (10): This is a smart tool that brightens dark areas while trying to protect your highlights. Adding +10 here gives a subtle lift, especially in shaded parts of your pictures, making them feel more alive and less flat. Highlights (-25): This is CRUCIAL for those bright skies or reflective surfaces. By pulling highlights down to -25, I recover lost detail in the brightest parts. Ever had a beautiful sky that looked totally white in your photo? This setting brings back those clouds and colors! It’s what makes the water look so rich in my example. Shadows (-5): I dial shadows down just a tiny bit to -5. This adds a touch more depth and contrast without making your dark areas completely black. It keeps things looking natural while adding a touch of moodiness. Contrast (-10): This might seem counterintuitive, but reducing contrast slightly can actually make your photo look more natural and less harsh, especially after we've boosted other elements. It softens the transitions between light and dark. Brightness (-10): After increasing exposure, I often bring brightness down a little to -10. This helps balance the image, ensuring it doesn't look overexposed but still feels radiant. It’s about finding that sweet spot where light looks natural. Saturation (20): Ah, THIS IS WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENSS! Boosting saturation to +20 makes colors truly sing. It’s fantastic for bringing out the greens of trees, the blues of the sky, or the vivid hues of a sunset. Just be careful not to overdo it, or faces can start looking a bit too orange! Vibrance (20): Similar to saturation, but smarter! Vibrance primarily boosts muted colors and usually protects skin tones better. Adding +20 here gives another layer of color pop, making your photos truly vibrant without making them look fake. It really enhances those scenes with varied colors. Remember, these are starting points! My biggest tip is to always play around with it a little bit. If your photo is dark, try increasing exposure or brilliance more. If the sky is still too bright, pull highlights down further. Every picture is unique, and sometimes you need to adjust just a few points up or down. Don't be afraid to experiment, especially with Saturation and Vibrance to see how they bring life to your pictures. You'll quickly develop an eye for what looks good. Save these settings, try them on your next batch of photos, and let me know how it transforms your feed! Happy editing!
