ZEUS #A5709333 Will lose his life tomorrow because his “family”signed off on his death if not adopted or rescued.
He was surrendered only a few weeks ago to Downey Animal Care Center, a high-kill shelter, because he got “too big.”
He’s 75 lbs. A Belgian Malinois. What did they expect? When will people start to research the breed before they get a dog!? And how many more dogs have to suffer and will lose their lives because people don’t do their job!?
Now he’s sitting behind a cage, completely shut down. He doesn’t want to be touched. He doesn’t want to move.
He’s scared and doesn’t understand why he ended up at this scary place . He’s rescue only and won’t get another chance unless someone steps up immediately.
➡️ He needs a Malinois-savvy FOSTER and RESCUE.
➡️ He needs PLEDGES for his care and possible training.
➡️ He needs SHARES to get seen.
🚨📩 DM californiashelterpets @isabobbyandfurryfamily or email isabeldesiree8@gmail.com immediately if you can help.
🔥 Don’t just scroll. If you can’t foster, please SHARE this. SAVE it. COMMENT. WATCH it again. That’s how the algorithm gets him seen.
If you’ve ever wanted to help but didn’t know how - this is how.

Belgian Malinois dogs are known for their intelligence, agility, and strong work ethic, which makes them ideal for police, military, and search-and-rescue roles. Unfortunately, their high energy level and large size mean they require experienced owners who understand their unique needs. Zeus’s story highlights a harsh reality faced by many dogs surrendered to high-kill shelters simply because their owners were unprepared for their breed’s demands. If you’re considering adopting or fostering a Belgian Malinois like Zeus, it’s essential to research the breed’s temperament and exercise needs carefully. These dogs thrive with consistent training, mental stimulation, and regular physical activity. Without this, they may become stressed and anxious, which sometimes leads to abandonment or surrender. Organizations and rescues specializing in Malinois are critical lifelines for dogs like Zeus. They not only provide foster homes suited to the breed’s needs but also offer training and reintegration support. Pledges for medical care and training can greatly increase rescue success rates, so financial support is also crucial. If you cannot foster, simply sharing Zeus’s story on social media can dramatically boost his visibility, increasing his chance of finding a loving home. Every share, comment, or saved post assists in connecting a potential adopter or foster with this scared, shut-down dog. Time is against him, and your actions could be the difference between life and death. To help Zeus or learn more, contact California Shelter Pets via DM @californiashelterpets or email isabeldesiree8@gmail.com immediately. The shelter address is Downey ACC, 11258 Garfield Avenue, Downey, CA 90242. Your support—whether fostering, adopting, donating, or sharing—can save Zeus’s life and raise awareness about responsible dog ownership and breed-specific rescue needs.
