this happened last year and i still think about it way too often. i was interviewing for a job i really wanted after leaving a super toxic workplace. everything was fine at first—basic questions, smiling through it—until she asked me why I left my last job. i opened my mouth to answer and just… started crying. like actual, full tears. i was so embarrassed but she was surprisingly chill about it. she slid a tissue box across the table and said “you’re okay, take your time.” i somehow pulled it together and finished the interview, but the second i left the building i called my best friend like “i just sobbed through a job interview.” 😭 they actually ended up offering me the job too, which still shocks me.
