My favorite part of designing things 🤍

I wanted to start sharing some personal experiences and thoughts I have had as a designer to be a bit more vulnerable here.

I love my day job and never take any of my tasks for granted but I do have a few things that stick out that I really enjoy.

What are some of your favorite things about your job? 🧢 #productdesign #favoritethings #tech

... Read moreAs someone deeply involved in designing digital experiences, I find that the variety of tasks keeps my work exciting and challenging every day. Beyond just creating appealing visuals, product design involves understanding users’ needs through detailed research and market analysis. This phase alone is incredibly enriching as it opens doors to new knowledge and perspectives, making each project feel like a mini learning journey. One of the highlights I relate to is the creative process of mood boarding. Imagine crafting a visual wish list where inspiration flows freely, enabling designers to align their vision and experiment with ideas. This not only sets the tone for the project but also sparks innovation by revealing how different teams solve similar problems. Getting deeply immersed in the design tools, like Figma, and tweaking details for hours can sometimes lead to a state of flow that feels almost like an out-of-body experience. It’s in these moments that creativity truly flourishes, enabling the exploration of multiple solutions—often five to seven variations—for every design challenge. This methodical exploration ensures thoughtful problem-solving and better user outcomes. Another meaningful aspect is presenting designs to stakeholders and peers. It’s a rewarding way to communicate the thought process and rationale behind design decisions. The feedback and discussions that follow often lead to improvements and refined solutions. Finally, witnessing the "it's been released!" moment is priceless. Seeing a product transition from an idea on paper to something real and functional for end-users validates all the hard work and dedication put into the process. It’s a celebration of teamwork and creativity that fuels passion for future projects. For anyone on a similar journey, embracing these facets of product design not only enhances creative fulfillment but also contributes to continuous growth and satisfaction in this dynamic field.
