My Early 20’s Lessons

1. Appreciate who you are now

I wish I had appreciated myself more for who I was in my early twenties than for being hard on myself. I need to be kinder to the person I am now.

2. Utilize the time you have now

I always felt like I had taken time for granted and was not being productive with my time. I could have been further along with my goals if I had stopped procrastinating.

3. It is okay to not know everything

It's your first decade into adulthood. We won't know much about adulting. This is the time to turn your "I don't know" into "I am learning”

... Read moreEntering adulthood can be a challenging yet transformative experience. In your early 20s, you may grapple with self-doubt and the pressures of societal expectations. One important lesson is to appreciate the person you are and acknowledge your achievements, no matter how small. This self-acceptance lays the foundation for personal growth. Time management is crucial during this decade. It’s natural to feel overwhelmed by responsibilities, but prioritizing tasks and setting realistic goals can enhance productivity and reduce procrastination. Techniques such as time-blocking and creating to-do lists can help you stay focused on what matters. Another aspect of this journey is recognizing that it’s acceptable to be clueless about many things. Instead of succumbing to the pressure of having it all figured out, embrace your status as a learner. Seek knowledge and experiences that broaden your horizons. Engage with mentors, attend workshops, and don’t hesitate to ask questions; every experience is part of your learning curve. Combining these principles paves the way for a fulfilling life. Stay curious and open-minded, and remember that everyone progresses at their own pace. Your early 20s are not just a transition into adulthood; they are also the time to lay the groundwork for a joyful and successful future.
