Starting my hair growth journey over
✨ Hi everyone! ✨
I wanted to share my journey of starting over with my hair care and finding motivation again.
When I started a new job last November, it was extremely fast-paced and exhausting for me to adjust. Unfortunately, I got really lazy with maintaining my hair, and eventually I just gave up altogether—something I definitely regret.
From January to August I went with no trims and barely combed my hair. The setback was painful: my hair started thinning, my acne worsened, and my self-esteem dropped.
With my stylist, I learned a lot about the habits that were harming my hair, like:
• Going to bed with wet hair in a ponytail (a big cause of breakage in the back)
• Using products I didn’t need (I love Aphogee, but it was giving me protein overload)
• Relying on Aussie, which worked when my hair was healthy, but not in its fragile state
Now, I’ve switched to Design Essentials moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, plus some Camille Rose products. To give my hair a break, I’m starting with mini twists for low manipulation and avoiding ponytails until it thickens back up. Im also going to try month to month clipping my damage ends.
It’s been tough, but I’m excited to focus on healthy habits and see my progress over time. 💕

I had to bite the bullet and cut my hair 3 months ago, health over length. It will grow back
