... Read moreHey everyone! I'm so excited to share more about my fitness journey and what 'new gains' really means to me, especially as we kick off a fresh start. You know that feeling when you decide it's time for a change? That's exactly where I'm at, and my recent gym sessions, rocking my favorite black crop top and leggings, taking those mirror selfies, are just the beginning of 'Day One: Show Up.'
For me, 'showing up' isn't just about physically being at the gym, even when it feels like a battle to get there. It’s about committing to yourself, even on days when motivation is low. I remember staring at those dumbbells, feeling a mix of excitement and doubt, but pushing through that initial resistance is half the battle. It's a mental game as much as a physical one. And trust me, seeing those small changes, like a bicep flexing a little more, or feeling stronger as I lift, makes all the effort worth it.
My journey isn't just about physical strength; it's deeply tied to my mental health. That's why 'a better version of you' isn't just about shedding pounds or building muscle. It's about building resilience, managing stress, and finding joy in movement. I've found that setting small, achievable goals, like committing to three gym sessions a week or trying out a new exercise with the dumbbells, really helps. And don't underestimate the power of a good playlist and a comfy white cap to keep you focused!
We all have days where we stumble. I've had plenty! There are days I feel like I'm hitting a wall, or I miss a workout, and the old me would've just given up. But this year, my mantra is 'it’s okay to fall down, just get back up and keep going.' It’s about forgiving myself, understanding that progress isn't linear, and simply restarting. Maybe I couldn't do a full workout, but I could still go for a walk, or do some stretches at home. Every little bit counts.
To truly make #gainsinprogress, I've learned to focus on consistency over perfection. It’s not about transforming overnight, but about consistent effort that adds up over time. Documenting my journey, whether it's through those quick mirror selfies (yes, even when I'm just standing with my hand on my hip, feeling accomplished!), or simply journaling my thoughts and feelings, helps me stay accountable and see how far I've come. It’s a holistic approach to wellness – mind, body, and spirit. So, let’s keep going, empower ourselves, and celebrate every small victory on this amazing #fitnessjourney towards a truly better us. What's your 'Day One' looking like?
