Sharing my journey developing a theoretical model on the pathology of autism has been deeply rewarding and challenging. I created this model to help better understand autism by synthesizing key biomarkers that highlight neurodivergent biochemistry and how various comorbidities interact with autism spectrum conditions. In 2024, I was invited to present my work at the prestigious Spring conference hosted by MedMaps, a pivotal moment validating my research efforts. However, the path wasn’t straightforward. By 2025, my theory was tested and, unfortunately, plagiarized by other institutions, including prominent Ivy League schools and international researchers. I took proactive steps, reaching out to my state representative for support. Though initial responses were hopeful, it exposed the complexity of academic recognition and intellectual property protection within autism research. Interestingly, RFK mentioned using a similar method to mine for autism biomarker synthesis but was unable to fully explain it. This highlights the evolving nature of this field and the need for clear communication and transparency within scientific communities. My model also touches on the interconnected conditions often accompanying autism, such as MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome), POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), and pain disorders like hEDS (hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome). These comorbidities complicate diagnosis and treatment but acknowledging them is crucial for holistic care.
