There’s a part of walking with God that nobody really prepares you for…
Separation.
Not everything leaves your life because you did something wrong.
Sometimes things leave because
God is protecting where you’re going.
People will say:
“Why did that fall apart?”
“Why did they walk away?”
“Why did it end like that?”
And the truth is…
Not everything that started with you
is meant to stay with you.
“For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open…”

Sometimes exposure comes first…
and then separation follows.
Because once God reveals something—
He doesn’t ask you to stay tied to it.
And let’s be real…
Separation doesn’t always feel like protection.
It can feel like loss.
It can feel confusing.
It can feel like everything is falling apart.
But what if…
What you’re grieving
is actually what God is removing
to make room for what’s next?
Because God doesn’t just expose…
He also prunes.
And pruning isn’t punishment.
It’s preparation.
“I am the true grapevine… He cuts off every branch… and He prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.”

So if something was removed…
If someone couldn’t stay…
If a door closed suddenly…
Don’t rush to reopen what God shut.
Sit with Him in it.
Trust Him in it.
Let Him finish what He started.
Because where God is taking you…
not everything—and not everyone—can go.

When God removes people, opportunities, or even dreams that once felt vital, it’s not about punishment or abandonment. Instead, it’s often about making space for new blessings that we cannot yet see. One of the most comforting truths I have discovered is that God’s pruning is purposeful. Like a gardener carefully cutting back branches to help a tree bear more fruit, God removes that which hinders our progress so we can thrive in the next chapter. This process may feel painful and confusing at the moment—much like the grief of loss—but it ultimately leads to greater spiritual fruitfulness and personal development. I recall a time when a close friendship unexpectedly ended, leaving me feeling isolated and questioning why it had to happen. Over time, though, I realized that this separation brought new opportunities for deeper relationships and growth I hadn’t anticipated. Trusting God's timing, as Mark 4:22 reminds us, means believing that what is hidden will be made clear. The revelations may first bring discomfort, but they also bring clarity and freedom. Moreover, embracing faith over feelings has been essential. Feelings often tempt us to cling to what’s familiar, even if it’s no longer beneficial. But faith encourages us to surrender control, trusting that God’s plan is unfolding perfectly, even when it defies our current understanding. For anyone navigating this space, my encouragement is to resist the urge to hurriedly revive closed doors or reconcile what God has clearly removed. Instead, sit quietly with Him, lean into prayer and reflection, and allow God's pruning to prepare you for what’s ahead. Remember, what couldn't stay simply couldn't accompany you where God is leading.
