This is your sign
Sometimes the hardest part isn’t leaving the relationship.
It’s surviving the confusion that comes with loving someone who keeps hurting you while the world watches and asks, “Why do you keep going back?”
People who have never lived through trauma bonds, manipulation, fear, emotional abuse, or the cycle of “good days” and destruction don’t understand how complicated it really is.
Leaving sounds easy to people who aren’t the ones laying awake at night trying to separate love from survival.
And honestly… one of the loneliest parts for me has been realizing that when I needed protection, understanding, and support the most… a lot of people chose judgment instead.
Some mocked me. Some got tired of me. Some acted like healing should happen overnight.
But abuse changes your mind, your confidence, your nervous system, and sometimes even your ability to trust yourself.
And I need women to know this:
Going back does not make you stupid.
It does not make you weak.
It does not mean you deserve what happened to you.
Sometimes healing comes in stages. Sometimes freedom comes in pieces. Sometimes God is rebuilding a woman one painful lesson at a time.
I’m still walking through this myself. Still learning. Still grieving. Still trying to untangle my heart from things that hurt me.
But deep down, I know this:
God did not create us to live in fear, confusion, manipulation, or constant emotional pain.
Love should not leave you destroyed all the time.
And to the woman secretly reading this while crying in the bathroom, hiding in silence, or wondering if she’ll ever be strong enough to leave…
You can do this.
Even if it takes time.
Even if nobody claps for you at first.
Even if people misunderstand your journey.
Freedom is possible. Healing is possible. Peace is possible.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” — Psalm 34:18 NLT
