a ceremony that is not called a memorial service
1. Ancestors memorial service (Soreisha Shrine, Mitama Festival)
In Buddhism, it corresponds to "Buddhist service / memorial service," and in Izumo Taisha religion, it is called * * "Mitamamatsuri (Goryosai)" * *.
We think that the spirit of the deceased does not go far away, but rather becomes the guardian deity (ancestor spirit) of the home and watches over the descendants.
Location: They are enshrined at the Soreisha Shrine in the precincts and at the Mitamaya (Shinto-style Buddhist altar) in their homes.

Shinsosai: A Shinto funeral.
Nensai is a Buddhist memorial service (one-year festival, three-year festival, five-year festival, etc.).
Soreisha Grand Festival in Spring and Autumn: A festival held during the equinox period to commemorate ancestors.
2. Offering for things (burning and burning)
It is a Shinto ritual of gratitude for things with souls such as amulets, dolls, and favorite items.

3. Cleansing of land and houses (Izumo Yashiki)
This is slightly different from the direct "Kuyo," but it is an important Shinto ritual unique to Izumo.
Izumo Yashiki (Izumo Yashiki): It is a Shinto ritual like a ground-breaking ceremony in which the land or house where you live is offered as a residence of "Okuninushi Okami" (Okuninushi Okami) and protected by it. It is said that by doing this, there will be no bad aspects of the family and orientation, and the ancestors will be at peace.

神道は仏教とは異なり「供養」という言葉を直接使わないものの、先祖や対象への感謝や祓い清めの儀式がしっかりと存在しています。特に出雲大社教における『みたままつり（御霊祭）』は、亡くなった方の魂を家の守り神とする独特の考え方が根付いており、祖霊社や御霊舎で祀ることで先祖への敬意を表します。 私自身、出雲地方を訪れた際にこの『みたままつり』に参加した経験があります。祖霊を単なる亡霊ではなく守護の存在として祀ることで、心の平安と家族の絆を深めることができました。また、物に対する供養としての古神札焼納祭や人形供養の儀式も印象的で、不要になったお守りや人形に対しても魂が宿ると考え、感謝と祓いを込めたお焚き上げを行う事で、手放すことへの抵抗感を軽減し、敬意を払う大切さを実感しました。 さらに興味深いのは、土地や家屋の清めを目的とした『出雲屋敷』の神事です。大国主大神を招き入れることで、家相や悪い方位による凶相を祓い、先祖も安らかにするとされるこの儀式は、神道の浄化観念が強く反映されています。実際にこの神事を行った土地のオーナーからは、日々の生活に安心感が得られたという話を聞き、現代における神道の供養的行事の有用性を感じました。 神道が「穢れを嫌う」とされる理由から、穢れを持ち込まず、清める事を重視している点もうなずけます。供養を単なる死者への追憶だけでなく、魂の清めと感謝を通じて現世とのつながりや心の安寧を創造する行為としてとらえてみると、その奥深さをより感 じられるのではないでしょうか。
