😂😭
Okay, so I just had the funniest thing happen, and I HAVE to share it with you all. You know when you're just craving something delicious, so you treat yourself to a little solo meal? Maybe it's a takeout order you're eating at home, or maybe you're brave enough to dine alone at a restaurant (which, by the way, is a superpower!). Anyway, I ordered my favorite pasta dish – just for me, mind you – and when I opened the bag, it was like a utensil explosion! Seriously, the restaurant gave me three, yes THREE, forks! I just stared at them for a second, then at my single container of food. My first thought was, "Do they think I'm planning a fork-based art installation?" Or maybe, "Did they accidentally pack utensils for a small family gathering?" It's such a tiny, insignificant detail, but it cracked me up. It's those little moments that make you wonder about the logistics of restaurant kitchens, isn't it? Like, is there a person whose sole job is to grab as many forks as humanly possible for every single order? I can just imagine them, "One order of pasta... better give them a dozen forks, just in case!" It really got me thinking about all the quirks of getting food. This "multiple forks for one person" scenario is definitely up there. It's almost like a universal solo dining experience. You're trying to be low-key, enjoy your own company, and then BAM – you're suddenly equipped to feed a small army of cutlery-wielding diners. It’s funny because it highlights how often restaurants are geared towards groups, even when you're clearly just ordering for yourself. I mean, I appreciate the thought, I guess? Maybe they're just being extra hygienic, or anticipating I might drop one (or two, or three) of them. But honestly, it often feels like a subtle, unintentional jab at my solo dining choices. "Oh, you're eating alone? Here, have enough cutlery to pretend you have friends!" 😂 Of course, I know it's not intentional, but it makes for a good laugh. Have any of you experienced something similar? Or what are your most relatable solo dining moments? Sometimes I get an entire bread basket for one, which is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because, well, bread! A curse because I then feel obligated to eat it all, even though I'm already getting a full meal. Maybe next time I should just ask for a single fork and see the reaction. Or better yet, bring my own, just to throw them off! But on a serious note, solo dining is something I've grown to love. It's a chance to truly savor my food, people-watch, and enjoy some quiet time. Even with the occasional fork overkill, it's a small price to pay for that peace. So next time you're dining alone and find yourself with a surplus of silverware, just embrace the humor. Who knows, maybe you'll start a trend! Or at least get a good laugh out of it, just like I did.
