Day 2 of Using Bread to Cook for 3 Days

2025/10/28 Edited to

... Read moreUsing an air fryer to make bread pudding not only saves time but also gives the dessert a slightly crispy texture on the outside while keeping it soft inside. I usually start by cubing the leftover bread, which can be any kind, including slightly stale pieces or even leftover fruitcake for a unique twist. Next, I prepare a custard mixture with eggs, milk, sugar, and some cinnamon or vanilla extract for added flavor. After mixing everything together, I let the bread soak up the custard for about 10 minutes before placing it in the air fryer basket. Cooking time is typically around 15 to 20 minutes at 320°F (160°C), but it’s important to check on it halfway through to ensure it cooks evenly. The top should be golden brown and firm to touch when done. For added variety, you can mix in dried fruits, nuts, or even a drizzle of caramel or chocolate sauce after cooking. Garlic bread pudding is an interesting savory alternative if you’re looking to experiment beyond the classic sweet versions. I find this method perfect for reducing food waste while enjoying a delicious homemade dessert without the need to heat up the whole kitchen. Give it a try, and you might find it becoming your new favorite way to enjoy bread pudding!
