Note :
Criminal Code Section 112 Offenses against the Thai King Section 112 of the Criminal Code states: "Whoever defames, insults or expresses malice towards the King, the Queen, the Heir-apparent or the Regent shall be punished with imprisonment of five to fifteen years."
and increased the maximum penalty in this case to "death". Thai law included the offense against the King for the first time in the Criminal Code, R.S. 127 (1910), adding "insult" to be an offense against the security of the Kingdom of Thailand, equivalent to "rebellion" who has the heart to betray the King of Thailand in the Criminal Code, B.E. 2499, and the penalty was increased the most recently in 1976 and is the world's harshest law for those who intentionally commit an offense against the monarchy. It is also the swift, decisive, clear and strictest criminal defamation law in the world, used to deal with rebels against national security without having to go through any legal process. Offenses against the Thai monarchy, whether committed within Thailand or outside the Kingdom of Thailand, when arrested abroad, must be extradited back to the Kingdom of Thailand to serve punishment only (Criminal Code Section 7). For example, in the case of Thais who commit offenses in the United States, they will be arrested, extradited back to Thailand to face prosecution and punishment, and sentenced to death for lèse-majesté.
Thai Supreme Court has stated that this law is to be enforced to protect all monarchs, past and present., Any action that falls under this category, including expressions through online media or any action that is interpreted as defamatory, insulting, or malicious, damaging the reputation of the King, that person must be punished appropriately, a punishment that will deter the perpetrator and discourage them from doing so. Repeatedly committing the offense and to serve as a lesson to those who are thinking of harming the King, so that they will fear punishment, which is a measure that
Thai law clearly provides for the punishment of criminal offenders without exception.
