It Ends With Us Book Review 🌸

⭐️Overall rating: 5/5:

I am finally back! I needed to take some time for myself and regroup.

On to the book review, this was a good book and I enjoyed reading it. The only thing I COMPLETELY dislike was the letters oh my gosh I didn’t like them one bit they were to long and to repetitive. Although they gave us information about Lily’s and Atlas past but it’s just too long for me.

Of course there were things that I didn’t like but that was all apart of the storyline and I don’t want to give out any spoilers so I’m just going to keep this short and simple lol.

I am fully aware that not a lot of people aren’t the biggest fan of Colleen Hoover and that’s completely understandable. I am not influencing anyone to read something that they don’t want to read.

I am working on more book reviews/recommendations. I am currently in school and that has me really busy. Plus I’m focusing on my health as well.

Happy Reading 📚

🌸Synopsis:

Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up — she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan — her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

... Read moreReading 'It Ends With Us' wasn't just a story for me; it was a profound exploration of what domestic abuse truly looks like behind closed doors. The book doesn't shy away from the difficult realities, showing how complex and insidious abuse can be, often starting subtly and escalating. I remember feeling so frustrated and heartbroken for Lily, understanding how difficult it is to recognize and then break free from toxic patterns when love and loyalty are involved. It truly made me reflect on how easily one can fall into such a situation and how challenging it is to find a way out. What really struck me was how Colleen Hoover portrayed the cycle of violence, and the internal struggle of Lily, who genuinely loved Ryle. It's easy to judge from the outside, but the narrative pulls you into her shoes, making you understand the nuances of emotional manipulation, the gaslighting, and the courage it takes to put yourself first. The story isn't just about physical abuse; it’s also about the psychological toll, and the way a person's self-worth can be eroded over time. This portrayal felt incredibly real and resonated deeply with the OCR's mention of 'breaking free from toxic patterns' and the journey to 'finding your perfect person' – which isn't always another partner, but sometimes finding yourself. The character of Atlas, often seen as Lily's 'perfect person' from her past, serves as such an important contrast. He represents a different kind of love, one that is supportive and understanding, highlighting what a healthy relationship should feel like. This contrast makes Lily's journey even more poignant as she grapples with her present and past, emphasizing the depth of her struggle to redefine what love means. If you're considering reading this book, please take the trigger warnings seriously. It's a powerful story that can be emotionally challenging, but it’s also incredibly important for fostering empathy and understanding. For anyone who has experienced similar situations, or knows someone who has, this book can be a painful but validating read. It sparks vital conversations about domestic violence, the societal pressures survivors face, and ultimately, the strength found in choosing yourself and *breaking free from toxic patterns*. It truly makes you reflect on the silent struggles many face and the importance of finding your own path to healing and self-empowerment. It’s a book that stays with you, prompting deep thought about relationships, choices, and the profound impact of abuse, while also offering a glimmer of hope for moving forward.
