Ever since bath and Bodyworks discontinued their scent coconut lime verbena, I’ve been in the hunt for something similar. This Verveine Agrumes collection comes extremely close!
👃The perfume. I absolutely love the scent however it is definitely more of a body spray which does not make the $80 price tag worth it.
🚿The shower gel. The scent is fantastic, but nothing very special about it. The scent does not last if you don’t use the lotion and the spray.
🧴The lotion. I have very dry skin and I did not feel the lotion moisturizing my skin at all. I use my regular fragrance free lotions and oils and then I top it off with this lotion for scent. It does leave a cool minty feeling on your skin which is really nice.
👎🏼Overall I spent over $130 with these products and I do not think that they are worth the price tag.💸
⭐️ besides the amazing scent my experience at their store was incredible. The sales person was extremely sweet and knowledgeable and gave me lots of free samples.
... Read moreMy L'Occitane journey with the Verveine Agrumes collection really made me think about value, especially when it comes to body care and fragrances. After my experience, I've got some extra thoughts, particularly for those of you wondering if L'Occitane makes a good gift or if their products genuinely moisturize dry skin, which I know is a big concern for many!
First off, let's talk about gifting. You know, that lovely store experience I had? It's definitely part of the brand's appeal. The beautiful packaging and the perception of luxury make L'Occitane products seem like perfect gifts. However, based on my honest review of the Verveine Agrumes perfume, shower gel, and body milk, I'd say it depends on who you're buying for and what you expect. If it's for someone who appreciates beautiful scents and the brand's aesthetic, a smaller item like their famous hand creams (which I didn't review here, but are super popular!) or a travel-sized eau de toilette could be a delightful treat. But for a full set, especially considering the price for products like the shower gel or perfume that didn't quite live up to expectations for lasting power or unique formulation, you might want to consider individual preferences very carefully. Gifting decisions often come down to perceived value, and while the scent of Verveine Agrumes is divine, the overall performance for the price point gave me pause.
Now, onto the moisturizing factor, especially for us folks with dry skin! My biggest takeaway from using the Verveine Agrumes lotion was its inability to deeply moisturize my skin. While it left a pleasant minty feel, it didn't provide the hydration my dry skin craves. This made me realize that not all L'Occitane body care lines are created equal for intense moisture. If you're specifically looking for a personal care company that tackles dry skin, I'd suggest looking into L'Occitane's Shea Butter range. From what I've heard and seen, those products are specifically formulated for deep nourishment, unlike the lighter, scent-focused Verveine Agrumes body milk. It’s worth exploring their specific lines for moisturizing soap or body wash if dry skin is your primary concern, rather than assuming all their lotions or shower products will deliver the same results.
And for those of you evaluating L'Occitane fragrances or body washes in general, and doing mass comparisons – my search for a Bath & Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena dupe highlights this. L'Occitane definitely offers a more sophisticated scent profile compared to many mass-market brands. They have a wide array of fragrances, not just citrusy ones like Verveine Agrumes, but also floral, woody, and even some unique herbal notes. While I didn't try their apple body wash, vanilla body wash, or unscented body wash, it's clear they cater to diverse preferences. My honest evaluation is that if you prioritize unique, natural-smelling fragrances and a luxurious experience, L'Occitane is worth exploring. However, if you're expecting the same strong, long-lasting scent throw or intense moisturizing properties found in some other brands, or if budget is a main concern, it might be beneficial to sample different lines or stick to their known hero products. Ultimately, it’s an exploration to find what works best for your personal body care routine.
