Was v excited to start my pilates journey last year! I visited 2 pilates studios - Advantage Pilates & SG Pilates. 🧘♂️🧘♀️
I’m currently with SG Pilates because of the $199 for 10 classes promo that they’ve been running over the last few months!
REVIEWS:
1. Advantage Pilates ($$)
- ~$20-$25/class during promotion periods, booking done on Advantage Pilates app.
- I signed up for the newcomer package ($99 for 4 classes) and then there was another NDP package ($199 for 8 classes).
- If there are no promos, classes can be quite expensive (~$350 for 10 classes). 😥
- The instructors at Advantage are super good. I’ve gone through Rodney, Lexy, Tiffany, Tatum. My personal favourites are Rodney and Tiffany! They’re super detailed and would come around correcting your form and give you tips on how to work the important muscles 💖
- One downside is that I don’t really know what I’m getting into before going for class. Their class bookings are not specific to “chair” or “reformer” or “tower”. You’ll only know what equipment you’ll be using when the instructor tells you in class. 🥵
- PS Rodney’s class is very different from the other instructors’. His is more cardio style, you’ll definitely burn more calories when you’re in his class. It’s also the most difficult out of the other classes!
2. SG Pilates ($)
- $199 for 10 classes! Booking is done on the SG Pilates app.
- A variety of classes to choose from, with many outlets in Singapore! 🥳
- There are English and Chinese classes, of which I usually see slightly more English classes!
- You can select whether you want chair, reformer or tower! I haven’t done tower at SG Pilates yet, but am looking to do so!! 😇
- Instructors are good as well. They come around to correct poses, and they spend AMPLE amount of time counting down to make sure you HURT 🤣🥵
Both pilates studios are quite similar, the main difference to me is the pricing of the classes. SG Pilates conducts more promotions and offers compared to Advantage Pilates, so would still continue SG Pilates for now 😇

However, if you prefer a more specialized and intense session, Advantage Pilates’ approach might better suit your preferences. One tip I’d share is to try out introductory or promotional packages at both studios if possible, to gauge which teaching style and environment you resonate with the most. Also, keep an eye out for apps provided by both studios, as they streamline booking but sometimes might lack detailed info upfront, so reading reviews or reaching out can clarify class specifics. Overall, both studios bring strong benefits to the table, but SG Pilates currently feels more accessible due to pricing and class options. Still, if you’re after a rigorous workout with expert guidance, Advantage Pilates is worth considering despite the higher cost.
