Consistency was never built for an ADHD 🧠

Consistency isn’t failing you.

It was never built for an ADHD brain.

ADHD creators don’t build habits.

We build momentum loops.

High-interest bursts.

Deep focus windows.

Natural drop-offs. (This is normal.)

The real skill isn’t discipline.

It’s knowing when to restart without shame.

If you’ve ever “fallen off,” you didn’t fail.

You just reached the end of a loop.

You can restart anytime. 🍋

Save this for your next reset.

... Read moreAs someone who has navigated the ups and downs of an ADHD brain, I’ve found that traditional advice about building habits often feels unattainable. Instead of forcing myself into rigid routines, I’ve embraced the idea of momentum loops, which perfectly align with how my brain naturally functions. These momentum loops consist of intense, high-interest bursts where focus and creativity flow effortlessly. During these periods, deep focus windows enable me to dive into work or projects with remarkable intensity and productivity. However, these bursts are naturally followed by drop-offs, where my attention wanes—that’s a normal and expected part of the cycle. Recognizing that these natural fluctuations are not failures has been a game changer. When I hit a drop-off, I remind myself that it’s simply the end of a momentum loop—not a signal of weakness. The real skill lies in accepting when to pause and understanding that I can always restart my momentum without guilt or shame. For ADHD creators like myself, this approach helps reduce burnout and frustration. Instead of chasing consistency that wasn’t built for our neurodivergent brains, tapping into these rhythms has allowed me to honor my unique ways of working. If you’ve ever felt defeated by the pressure to 'just be consistent,' know that momentum loops offer a valid and effective alternative. Adjusting your expectations and strategies to fit your brain’s design can unlock better creativity and personal success.
