For girls aged 5 and 9, it’s vital to focus on simple yet powerful lessons such as honesty, kindness, and perseverance. Engaging them in discussions about their day-to-day experiences can provide practical examples of these values. Using age-appropriate activities, such as role-playing or storytelling, can help reinforce these concepts in a fun way. Consider using books that highlight character education, allowing you to address complex themes through relatable stories. Additionally, create opportunities for your daughters to practice these values, such as volunteering in your community or helping with household chores. By being a role model and demonstrating these values yourselves, you can reinforce the lessons you wish to teach. Remember, parenting is a journey filled with learning, and every moment can offer a chance to teach your children about life.

I went to a deaf and hard of hearing college. I learned sign while there and it was such an amazing experience. The college is called Rochester Institute of Technology. The program I was in was called National Technical Institute for the Deaf.
