This means getting 'x' all by itself on one side of the equals sign. We do this by performing inverse operations. Whatever you do to one side of the equation, you MUST do to the other side to keep it balanced, just like a scale. Let's walk through 3x+7=10 step-by-step: Identify the constants: In 3x+7=10, the constants are +7 and +10. We want to move the constant that's on the same side as 'x' to the other side. Use inverse operations: Since we have +7, the inverse operation is subtraction. So, we subtract 7 from both sides: 3x + 7 - 7 = 10 - 7 This simplifies to: 3x = 3 Isolate 'x': Now we have 3x = 3.
