... Read morePlanning a multi-city trip across China can be daunting, but focusing on cities like Quanzhou, Chaozhou, and Guangzhou provides a rich blend of culture, history, and modern experiences without feeling rushed. During my 13-day journey, I found that booking flights and hotels in advance was crucial for smooth transitions. For example, flying with Xiamen Airlines and Scoot offered competitive fares around SGD 233 to SGD 253, balancing comfort and budget. Staying at hotels such as Quanzhou Overseas Chinese Hotel and local Chaozhou hotels provided cozy accommodations with authentic local charm. These hotels were strategically located near old town areas, enabling easy exploration on foot. Guangzhou stood out due to its vibrant city life along the Pearl River (Zhujiang). A harbor cruise is a must-do to experience stunning night views and get a fresh perspective of city landmarks. Walking along the riverfront and using reliable ride-hailing services made travel between attractions smooth and stress-free. One tip is to allocate enough time in each city—Quanzhou for its historical temples and trade legacy, Chaozhou for its famous cuisine and ancient architecture, and Guangzhou for urban attractions and shopping. Avoiding rush enhances your experience, letting you absorb local culture deeply. Additionally, trying local breakfast specialties in each city adds an extra dimension to your trip. Whether savoring traditional dim sum in Guangzhou or Chaozhou's renowned beef hot pot, these culinary highlights are unforgettable. Overall, this itinerary blends efficiency and leisure perfectly, making it an excellent choice for travelers wanting a diverse China trip without the overwhelm.
