On the path of growth, we all used to walk through the intersection of doubt...
Why to study? How to study? What to study? And where to study?
These questions are like rains falling on the ground. If we question ourselves, it is the soothing that motivates the seeds of dreams to flourish.
.
Yet...Whenever the rainfall becomes a question from the people around it, its temperature becomes cold and changes.
Especially for the blind, these questions are often wrapped in good intentions and a smile of concern, but in the deep nooks of tone, we can all feel the cracks of unconfidence in our potential...And so many times, the tremors of these uncertainties are strong enough to shake someone's determination.
.
At the recent Peace School Open House, I and my two blind siblings had the opportunity to participate in an event based on the warm persuasion of the page 'Where are the Disabled Children?', a small area that provides educational counseling for people with disabilities in the project 'Inviting Disabled Students in High School to talk about stepping onto the campus fence.
.
In the midst of a conversation surrounded by the enthusiasm of blind sisters, a glimpse...My memories of yesterday were gradually awakened again.
The story of a child and many friends who repeatedly explain their identity, ways of living, and ways of learning to those who simply walk by and wonder, to those who have the key to opening or closing our doors.
.
I used to appreciate my past experience that the questions I often received were only "how to study" and "where to study," because if one day someone asks the deep-cut question "why to study," I can't imagine either...Will cry, curse, or just be silent, not retaliate.
Questioning is not wrong. If it leads to opening up and learning and preparing to embrace, we are happy to answer with pleasure. But if it is only questioning to find a reason for relegation or rejection, it will leave a scar on the answers.
.
Yet, the atmosphere in the small meeting room felt different...
The school intended to invite the page "Where are the disabled children?" as a beautiful light, they tell us that the identity of the disabled is real and meaningful.
.
For me...Talking so that you can precipitate your thoughts and slowly unravel the crux of anxiety in the minds of just one child is the most rewarding of today's journey.
.
The events of that day secretly sparked hope in my heart that if all academies or universities were willing to open up and open their hearts to such a wide range, the burden of questioning with skepticism towards children with disabilities would gradually dissolve from society.
And one day...The seeds of the dream that were once questioned must have blossomed beautifully with the heartwarming and embracing question...
.
"Is there anything we can support and walk alongside you?"
.
