Merry Sinsmas!

Oh my gosh, you guys! I'm still buzzing from the Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss meetup at Boston Common. It was the perfect place to debut my special festive Charlie Morningstar cosplay, especially with that gorgeous, brightly lit Christmas tree in the background! I saw some of you were curious about the 'full body' look and the 'Charlie Morningstar dress' itself, so let me spill all the tea! First off, I wanted to put a unique spin on Charlie for the holiday season, hence the 'red and white Santa-themed dress.' I spent weeks perfecting the details, from the fit of the dress to the subtle gold accents that really make it pop. The hood was a last-minute addition, but I think it really tied the whole 'Sinsmas' theme together, don't you? Getting that 'full-body shot' in front of the tree was a mission, especially with the ground being a bit wet, but totally worth it for the vibe! For the dress itself, I started with a base pattern and then heavily modified it to get Charlie's signature silhouette while incorporating the Santa elements. I even hand-stitched some of the white faux fur trim to make sure it looked extra plush and festive. The challenge was making it recognizable as Charlie while still being distinctly Christmas-themed. I focused on her classic color palette but swapped out her usual coat for this festive dress. And of course, no Charlie Morningstar cosplay is complete without her signature smile – I tried my best to channel her upbeat energy throughout the day! One of the best parts was seeing everyone's reactions to the 'Charlie Morningstar dress.' People loved the holiday twist! It was so much fun posing for photos and chatting about the show. If you're thinking about cosplaying Charlie, or any Hazbin Hotel character, I highly recommend paying attention to the smaller details and adding your own personal flair. Don't be afraid to get creative with fabrics and accessories. It truly makes the costume your own and makes the experience so much more rewarding. I'm already brainstorming ideas for my next Hazbin Hotel cosplay, maybe something for Valentine's Day? 😉
