Reading L.J. Shen's novel felt like being swept up in a whirlwind of emotions from start to finish. The way the author interweaves complex characters, especially with the intriguing dynamic hinted at in the OCR text "Once upon a time, the Devil fell in love with an Angel," added so much depth to the story. This celestial and devilish metaphor really plays out in the plot, making every interaction between the protagonists charged and unpredictable. The suspense built throughout the book kept me on edge—just when I thought I understood the direction, the plot twist came out of nowhere and totally reframed the entire narrative. I found myself frequently pausing to reflect on the characters’ motivations, which is a testament to the writing’s richness. As an avid reader on platforms like #booktok, I appreciate when a book not only entertains but also sparks conversations and speculation among readers. L.J. Shen's storytelling invites you to do just that. The seamless blend of romance, tension, and supernatural elements brought a fresh twist that I haven't seen in many contemporary novels. I’m eagerly looking forward to the sequel, hoping for more revelations and deeper explorations of these captivating characters. If you love stories with unforgettable plot twists and an emotional rollercoaster, this book is definitely one to add to your reading list.
