Hey fellow faith travelers! It's so easy to feel overwhelmed by the world around us, isn't it? When I first started asking myself, "Am I truly a disciple of Christ?", it felt like a huge question with even bigger answers. This journey isn't always easy, especially when we look at the world's brokenness and wonder how our faith can shine through. I've been reflecting a lot on the 'Cost of Discipleship' lately. It's more than just a phrase; it's a profound invitation to a 'Big Sacrifice'. For me, this has looked like making conscious choices to put God's will before my own desires, even when it feels uncomfortable. 'What Does Self Denial Look Like' in our daily lives? It's not about monastic living (unless that's your path!), but often about small, consistent acts: choosing patience over anger, generosity over greed, or truth over convenience. It's a daily 'Call To Commitment' that shapes who we become. Thinking about how we live out this faith, I sometimes see it as an 'artistic' endeavor. Just like an artist carefully chooses colors and strokes, we are called to thoughtfully and creatively live our lives for God. It’s about more than just following rules; it’s about expressing our faith in unique ways – through acts of kindness, sharing our stories, or even using our talents to bring light into dark places. Perhaps it's the 'art' of listening deeply to others, or finding creative solutions to help those in need. It's not always grand gestures; sometimes, it's the quiet, beautiful details of a life lived with intention. And when we talk about starting this journey, it often reminds me of a 'toddler' learning to walk. We take shaky first steps, stumble, and sometimes fall. My own faith journey definitely started with fumbling attempts and a lot of questions! It's okay to be in the early stages, to be learning and growing. Just as a parent patiently guides a toddler, God guides us. And for those of us who are parents or mentors, teaching faith to actual toddlers or young children is such a vital, joyful task. It's about planting seeds early, showing them God's love through simple stories and everyday actions, nurturing their budding understanding of 'Am I A Disciple Of Christ?' from a young age. We are called to be patient with ourselves and with others, remembering that spiritual growth is a lifelong process. Ultimately, being a disciple in this 'broken world' is a continuous 'Call To Commitment'. It’s about choosing to follow Christ, day in and day out, with all our imperfections and all our hope. It's a journey filled with challenges, but also immense grace and purpose. Let's encourage each other to embrace this call, to make those sacrifices, and to live lives that truly reflect His love.
