Parenting memories: self-confidence
Being a single parent often created situations where my child may have to hang with adults especially if there was no sitter available or maybe the sitter was not in the budget but you don’t want to be stuck inside.
Thank God I had great circle that understood or they had kids that my daughter could have fun with. My circle knew to speak on G rated topics. There were few times I had my daughter on her IPad with ear plugs if situation called for it.🙃🤫
She had space to hold her own amongst adults. I think back to myself and I was intimidated by adults as an early teen. I was shy and would mumble. My daughter on the other hand communicates very well and is mature. She is extremely confident. It’s beautiful. Self confidence is a wonderful thing and I am grateful she has it. It’s a result of loving oneself and having a strong mindset.
Always encourage your children to find their space to share their voice and have self-confidence. ❤️💓🙏🍋🍋❤️

As a single parent, creating an environment where your child can thrive socially is vital. Engaging with adults can offer children unique perspectives and opportunities to express themselves. It's essential to cultivate self-confidence from a young age. Encourage your child to participate in conversations with adults, as this can significantly boost their communication skills. Remind them that their opinions and voices matter. One effective approach is to host gatherings with friends and family, allowing children to interact with various age groups. This dynamic can help them learn how to navigate different social settings. When children feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings, they develop a stronger sense of self-worth. Additionally, praising your child's achievements, no matter how small, can reinforce their self-belief. Teach them to embrace mistakes as learning opportunities rather than setbacks. Self-confidence is built over time and requires consistent encouragement and support. Research suggests that children who believe in their capabilities are more likely to tackle challenges and pursue their passions. In instances where a child might feel shy, reinforcing positive affirmations and fostering a growth mindset can aid in overcoming apprehension. Single parenting may present unique challenges, but it also allows for the creation of strong bonds between parent and child, laying the foundation for open communication and mutual respect. Ultimately, the goal is to empower your child to blossom into a confident individual ready to face the world.
