Hey everyone! So glad you're loving the idea of those vibrant, colorful brownie toppings. I know I mentioned you can use any fudge brownie recipe, but sometimes it's nice to have a tried-and-true base that really makes those colors pop and delivers that perfect chewy, fudgy texture. And since some of you might be wondering about incorporating "brown sugar" for that extra depth of flavor, I've got my absolute favorite go-to brown sugar fudge brownie recipe right here! This recipe is super easy and creates the ideal canvas for our beautiful colored pride toppings. My Go-To Brown Sugar Fudge Brownie Base Recipe This recipe yields truly decadent, fudgy brownies with that wonderful caramel-like hint from the brown sugar. Ingredients: 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar 1/2 cup (100g) packed light brown sugar 2 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3/4 cup (75g) all-purpose flour 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch-processed for darker, fudgier brownies) 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup (85g) chocolate chips or chunks (optional, but highly recommended!) Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined and smooth. This is crucial for that shiny, crackly top! Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract. The mixture should be thick and glossy. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Don't overmix! Fold in the chocolate chips, if using. Pour the brownie batter into your prepared pan. Now, this is where you’d add your gorgeous colored topping batter as described in the main recipe! Pipe your lesbian flag colors (orange, white, pink) or any other pride flag design directly onto this raw brownie batter. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Let them cool completely in the pan before lifting out and cutting into squares. Cooling is key for perfect fudgy texture! Beyond the Lesbian Flag: Customizing Your Pride Brownies! One of the best things about this colored topping technique is its versatility! While I adore making the beautiful orange, white, and pink lesbian flag design, you can easily adapt this for any pride celebration. Want general Pride Month brownies? Use rainbow colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple). For bisexual pride, think pink, purple, and blue. Transgender pride? Light blue, pink, and white. It’s a wonderful way to personalize your treats and show your support for different communities. Just divide your topping batter into more portions and dye them accordingly! Sharing the Love: Serving and Presentation Ideas These brownies are not just delicious; they're a statement! When serving, consider: Pride Party Potluck: Arrange them on a platter, showcasing the colorful tops. Gift Boxes: Package a few brownies in a clear box with a ribbon in pride colors. Dessert Bar: They'll definitely be a standout! With Ice Cream: A warm, fudgy brownie with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream is always a winner. Making these colorful brownies is truly a labor of love, and every bite feels like a celebration. Enjoy baking and sharing your pride!
