college student reviews Din Tai Fung
As a college student in LA, I have been wanting to try Din Tai Fung for a long time, and I finally got to see what all the hype was about. And after eating there with some friends, I can definitely confirm that it is worth the hype! The food was outstanding, and the service was wonderful. We did have to wait 50 minutes for a table, but we killed time just walking around the mall and hanging out. The meal itself was a little pricey, but definitely worth it!! I 100% recommend you check out Din Tai Fung if you’re in LA!

Trying Din Tai Fung for the first time is truly an experience worth sharing, especially for those new to dumplings and Taiwanese cuisine. Watching the skilled chefs make the buns and dumplings right in front of you adds a unique touch to the dining atmosphere, making the wait time more enjoyable. The Chicken Xiao Long Bao stands out with its rich, flavorful broth that bursts with each bite, offering a comforting and savory taste that dumpling lovers crave. The Chicken and Mushroom buns are notably large and filling, perfect for sharing or indulging if you have a big appetite. Don’t miss the noodles, a staple at Din Tai Fung, which balance the meal with their smooth texture and light seasoning. For dessert, the chocolate-filled dumplings offer a sweet twist on the traditional savory dish, making it a delightful treat that contrasts beautifully with the main courses. The shaved snow topped with fresh mango is refreshing and light, a perfect ending especially in warmer weather. While the dining experience can be a bit pricey and the wait times lengthy, these factors are often outweighed by the excellent service and high-quality food. Many diners, including college students, find that Din Tai Fung delivers an authentic taste of Taiwanese cuisine with a modern twist. It’s a great spot for foodies looking to explore new flavors and enjoy a social meal with friends.
