My kind of advent calendar
We've done “family togetherness” or experience advent calendars in the past, but this year I wanted to do kindness challenges and sprinkle in some gratitude and faith as well. Not a 25-day craft marathon, not anything over-the-top, and definitely not a “run to Target for supplies every morning” situation 🙈
So I put together a Kindness + Faith + Family Togetherness countdown! These are meant to be simple moments or challenges we can do each day to stay connected, grounded, and remember what matters in the middle of the holiday chaos.
The best part (in this economy) is that every act of kindness or faith takes under 5 minutes and costs next to nothing. Just small, doable wins that my kids can actually complete. The family activities on Sundays do take a couple of supplies, but even those are super minimal and inexpensive. I’m pretty sure I have most of them already laying around here somewhere!
This sets December apart from the rest of the months of the year to make it special, and distracts from the day of presents around which the entire kid calendar year revolves lol.
