Lessons I’ve learned in college! 💝

Hi guys! College has been a learning process and I have gained lots of valuable lessons throughout my two years. My first lesson would be that staying active is crucial. Staying active in as many ways as I can has made me feel so much better about myself and has taught me persistence! Another important lesson I’ve learned is that you are who you surround yourself, and it’s important you surround yourself with likeminded people. In your 20s you will encounter people who don’t align with your values, and it’s very important that you cut those people off for your own good. Up next, it’s important to learn how to balance. Staying up to date with your academics while also maintaining your relationships is key!! It’s also important to romanticize your life in any way, shape, or form, because at the end of the day you only live once;) and lastly, maintaining a clean space has helped me soooo much. College is truly a time of self-discovery and growth, and learning to prioritize different aspects of life can transform your experience. Staying active isn’t just about fitness; it greatly improves mental health too. Trying various workout classes or simply going for walks can help you build persistence and boost your mood. Surrounding yourself with people who share your values is crucial in your 20s when you might face friendships that don’t align with your goals. Cutting off negative influences allows you to grow in a positive and supportive environment. Balancing academics with social life can be challenging but is essential for long-term success. Some weeks might require more academic focus, while others might need more social interaction—being flexible and taking it one day at a time is key. Another unexpected but impactful lesson is learning to romanticize your life—whether it's visiting a favorite coffee shop, trying a new recipe, or taking time for a creative project. This mindset encourages you to enjoy daily moments and wake up excited for the day ahead. Finally, maintaining a clean and organized living space can significantly improve your mental well-being. Establishing habits like weekly resets to tidy up your environment helps reduce stress and creates a calming atmosphere to recharge after busy days. Integrating these lessons into your college life equips you with resilience, stronger relationships, and a more fulfilling overall experience.
