Tall girl problems 🤌🏽

If you're a tall girl, you know that living in a small world can feel like a constant, low-key struggle. It's not always easy, and sometimes, it's downright hilarious or frustrating. I swear, only us tall women truly understand these unique daily challenges – the ones that make you nod along in agreement, thinking, 'Yes, that's my life!' Let's start with the classic: your feet hang off your bed. Every single night! No matter how big the bed, my feet inevitably find their way past the mattress edge. It's a constant battle with duvets that just aren't quite long enough, leaving my poor toes to brave the cold. And don't even get me started on hotel beds; they seem to be designed for much shorter folks! Then there's the eternal quest for clothing. Pants are never long enough, are they? Finding jeans that don't look like capris on me is a monumental achievement. It's not just pants; sleeves often cut off at an awkward length, and dresses designed to be elegant might just barely cover everything. Shopping can be a real adventure, often ending in compromise or custom tailoring. Around the house, I'm constantly reminded of my height. I can literally see over my shower curtain without even trying! It's great for spotting rogue spiders on the ceiling, but sometimes you just want that full enclosure. And low countertops? My back aches just thinking about all the bending I do in the kitchen. Chopping veggies or washing dishes turns into an impromptu yoga session. Plus, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had to duck at every doorway or low-hanging light fixture, especially in older buildings. My head has a permanent map of bruises from forgotten encounters! Public spaces and transportation bring their own set of woes. Trying to fit into a car comfortably, especially in the backseat, is often a comedic challenge. My knees are practically in my chin, and long road trips require strategic stretching breaks. And who hasn't heard the classic, "How's the weather up there?"? It's like a universal tall person greeting, often followed by "Can you reach that for me?" or "You must be a basketball player!" It gets old, but we usually just smile and oblige. Even the simple act of sitting down can be an ordeal. You literally become a gymnast when you sit down! Trying to cross your legs gracefully without hitting the person next to you or having your knees up to your chest is a skill developed over years of practice. Finding a comfortable chair that properly supports your back and legs feels like winning the lottery. Beyond these, there are other small moments: trying to hug someone shorter without crushing them, constantly being asked to reach things on high shelves (which, admittedly, has its perks!), or feeling like you stand out in a crowd whether you want to or not. But despite the occasional awkwardness, being tall also comes with its own unique advantages – always having a great view at concerts and never struggling to reach the top shelf in the grocery store are definite bonuses!
