8. Oven should be set to 325 to cook for about an hour & 30 mins (or until done in middle).

Baking an Oreo pound cake can be a rewarding experience, especially when you follow a methodical step-by-step process. Using room temperature unsalted butter and creaming it well with sugar is crucial; this aerates the batter, giving you a light and fluffy texture. Adding eggs gradually, as the recipe suggests, helps maintain an even mixture and avoids curdling. In my experience, alternating the addition of flour and buttermilk is essential for moisture balance. It prevents the batter from becoming too dense by keeping it hydrated and tender. Also, when incorporating crushed Oreos, try folding them in gently to retain their texture and avoid overmixing, which can lead to a tough cake. Using a bundt pan coated with non-stick spray makes removing the cake easier and also adds to its attractive shape. Baking at 325°F for about 1 hour and 30 minutes allows the cake to cook evenly without becoming dry or overbrowned. It's a good idea to test doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center; if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. For the icing, mixing cream cheese with powdered sugar and a splash of heavy cream creates a smooth, tangy topping that complements the cookies inside the cake beautifully. Chilling the cake slightly before applying the icing helps the frosting set nicely. From my personal baking trials, I recommend preparing your ingredients ahead and pre-measuring for a smoother workflow. Experimenting with different Oreo varieties might also add a unique twist to this traditional pound cake recipe. Overall, this recipe is perfect for anyone looking to impress with a homemade dessert that is both fun to make and delicious to share.
