I suggest booking with CJM Country Stables, they take you through a beautiful area in rural area in Poipu, and you get to ride on the beach (which was a dream come true for me) the tour guides are so fun, and they really make the experience a 10/10
2) “Hike” to the Napali Coast Lookout
I say “hike” because it’s really more of a walk, it’s super easy. There are a few more difficult hikes that branch off of the lookout that are definitely worth checking out too. But ultimately this view is the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen!
3) ATV rides
You get to drive through hills, and jungle areas. Plus the guides show you where different movies were filmed which is so cool! If you like getting muddy, and having a good time, i highly recommend this!!
4) Waimea Canyon
the “Grand Canyon on the Pacific” is something you can’t miss while you’re here. So many different hikes, and lookouts along the road. It’s gorgeous everywhere you look!
5) Blue Dolphin Boat Tours
I’ve been on quite a few boat tours but this one will always be my favorite. So much wildlife, including whales, turtles, dolphins (if you book with blue dolphin they are the only boat company on the island that guarantees that you see dolphins)

Beyond the highlights mentioned, one of my favorite aspects of the horseback riding tour with CJM Country Stables was the way their knowledgeable guides enrich the ride with local history and stories about the island’s culture. Riding along the serene Poipu coastline brought a deep connection to the peaceful island vibe that can't be replicated elsewhere.
When it comes to hiking, the Napali Coast Lookout is just the beginning. For those seeking a bit of a challenge, branching off to the Kalalau Trail offers more rigorous trekking with breathtaking cliffside views. I found the relatively easy access trail perfect for a morning walk to clear the mind, while also inspiring awe at the jagged beauty of the coastline—a photographic paradise.
The ATV adventure is a fantastic way to discover Kauai’s less-traveled paths. The thrill of maneuvering through lush jungles and muddy hills was complemented by guides pointing out notable film locations, which adds an exciting pop culture layer to the experience. It’s a great way to merge fun and nature in one unforgettable tour.
Waimea Canyon, often called the 'Grand Canyon of the Pacific,' is truly a sight to behold from multiple vantage points. Early morning visits are especially rewarding due to the softer light and usually lighter crowds. I recommend packing a picnic and taking some time to explore the various trails—each offers a distinct perspective of the canyon’s vibrant reds and greens.
Lastly, the Blue Dolphin Boat Tours stand out for their commitment to wildlife spotting, especially dolphins. Booking with them guarantees dolphin sightings, which makes it a much-loved tour among visitors. Observing turtles and whales in their natural habitat while cruising the calm waters of the Napali Coast was a serene and magical experience, highlighting Kauai’s rich marine biodiversity.
Overall, these activities provide a well-rounded Kauai itinerary for anyone seeking adventure, scenic beauty, and island charm. My personal takeaway from visiting Kauai is that its true magic lies in how seamlessly nature and adventure blend with cultural stories and unique experiences.
