Lighting ancestor money in memory of my Mother🕊️

Lighting ancestor money today in loving memory of my mother 🕊️

She transitioned on February 19, 2015, and her birthday is February 27.

This offering is my way of celebrating her life, honoring her spirit, and sending love across realms. Though she is no longer here physically, our bond continues through prayer, remembrance, and ancestral connection.

✨ What Is Ancestor Money? ✨

Ancestor money (also called spirit money or joss paper) is a sacred offering burned to honor those who came before us. In many spiritual traditions, the smoke carries symbolic gifts to the ancestral realm, showing gratitude, respect, and remembrance.

It is not about worshiping ancestors, but about maintaining connection. Just as we care for family in the physical world, offerings nourish the spiritual bond between generations. Many believe ancestors can provide guidance, protection, wisdom, and blessings when they are honored with love.

🔥 When burned with intention, ancestor money represents:

• Gratitude for those who paved the way

• Healing of family lines

• Support and protection from the spirit realm

• The flow of abundance across generations

Short Prayer:

Beloved ancestors, I honor you with gratitude. Receive this offering and walk with me in wisdom, protection, and peace. May our lineage be healed and blessed. Asé Amen 🙏🏾

... Read moreLighting ancestor money is a powerful way to keep the memory of our loved ones alive and to maintain a spiritual connection that transcends physical boundaries. From personal experience, this ritual has provided me with comfort and a sense of closeness to my ancestors, especially my mother who passed away years ago. The process of burning spirit money, often called joss paper, has roots in many cultures where it symbolizes sending gifts to the ancestral realm as a way to show gratitude and respect. One of the most touching aspects of this tradition is how it integrates prayer and intention. Whether it is for healing family lines, receiving protection, or inviting abundance, the act of lighting ancestor money is not just about ritual but about sincerely honoring those who paved the way for us. A simple prayer, such as the one shared in the article, can enhance this connection and invite a sense of peace and guidance. The inscriptions seen on ancestor money, like “天地银行有限公司” (Heaven and Earth Bank Company Limited) and symbols wishing for good fortune, reflect the belief that these offerings provide spiritual nourishment and support. In my experience, observing these traditions during important dates such as birthdays or anniversaries of the deceased creates an intentional moment of remembrance that uplifts the spirit and strengthens family bonds beyond this life. I encourage anyone who is interested in deepening their spiritual connection with family heritage to explore the practice of ancestor money burning with an open heart. It’s a meaningful way to celebrate life, express gratitude, and invite blessings that flow through generations. Through this sacred act, the memory of loved ones like mothers, fathers, and ancestors becomes a radiant source of inspiration and comfort in our daily lives.
