Things We Never Got Over Book Review

When I tell you I could not put this book down 😩

It’s been a minute since I’ve read some god romance with heat and when I saw this laying on the Barnes and Noble recommended table I couldn’t resist not jumping on the train. (I almost went for Fourth Wing but I’m avoiding it out of principal - we’ll see how long I last lol)

The characters, the setting, the banter, the spice was everything I needed and more - On my way right now to get the second and third in the series. 🩵

... Read moreYou know that feeling when you walk into a bookstore, and one particular cover just calls to you? That's exactly what happened with 'Things We Never Got Over' by Lucy Score. I saw that beautiful light blue cover with the daisies, and something just clicked. My friend had been raving about Lucy Score, and I needed a new romance fix that promised some serious heat. I was specifically looking for something to dive into after seeing countless recommendations for 'spicy' reads, and this one kept popping up. Let's get straight to what many of you are probably wondering: 'Is "Things We Never Got Over" spicy?' And let me tell you, YES, it absolutely is! If you're searching for books with 'spicy pages' that genuinely deliver, you've found your next read. Lucy Score doesn't shy away from the steamy details, but it's never just for shock value. The intimacy is woven seamlessly into the plot, deepening the connection between the characters. It's the kind of spice that makes your cheeks flush and leaves you wanting more, perfectly complementing the 'heart-wrenching' and 'hilarious' moments. It truly lives up to its 5-star review ticket – a perfect blend of 'steamy' passion and heartfelt emotion. But this book is so much more than just its steam factor. The characters, especially Knox and Naomi, are incredibly well-developed. Their banter is top-notch, genuinely making me laugh out loud. The small-town setting of Knockemout feels so real, it's like you're right there with them, experiencing everything. There are truly 'heart-wrenching' moments that make you feel deeply for these characters, and then there are scenes that are just pure comedy gold. It's a masterclass in balancing emotion with humor and heat. I actually found myself highlighting passages, which I rarely do! Speaking of Lucy Score, her writing style is just captivating. This isn't my first Lucy Score book, but 'Things We Never Got Over' really solidified her as one of my go-to authors for contemporary romance. She has a way of creating these larger-than-life characters with very real flaws, making you root for them from page one. And for those asking about the 'Things We Never Got Over Lucy Score paperback,' I grabbed my copy in paperback, and it's perfect for curling up with. Knowing this is the first in a series makes it even better; I'm already planning to get 'Things We Hide From the Light' and 'Things We Left Behind' ASAP. It's clear why this book frequently comes up in 'fall into temptation' searches – it's utterly addictive. Honestly, I flew through this book. From the moment I started, it was impossible to put down. If you're looking for a romance that has it all – incredible chemistry, genuine laughs, emotional depth, and a generous dose of spice – then 'Things We Never Got Over' is an absolute must-read. Don't walk, run to get your copy. You'll thank me later!

This one was hard to put down. I was worried it would have a sad ending but it ended on a happy note that so just LOVED! I wouldn’t read this book again, because it’s so long (565 pages worth) but it’s definitely a book worth reading once and I wouldn’t read this definitely recommend it! I give ⭐️⭐
