Influence Matters
✨A Light 💡in the Night🌙
Hey family 🤎🌆 Let’s talk real tonight. INFLUENCE👥 is no joke. We live in a world 🌍 where podcasts 🎙️, social media 📱, and YouTube 👀 have louder voices 📢 than parents, teachers, or even pastors sometimes. That’s why it matters WHO our children 🙋🏾♂️🙋🏾♀️ and WE allow to shape our MINDS🧠 and HEARTS❤️.
I saw a former NFL player 🏈, Channing Crowder, MOCK another current NFL player, Steelers QB Russell Wilson, for things that don’t even matter. Instead of celebrating a man who loves his WIFE💍, FAMILY👨🏾👩🏾👧🏾, and GOD🙏🏾, he chose to TEAR DOWN💣. That’s POOR INFLUENCE🚫. And with the size of his platform 📡, those words can plant seeds 🌱 in young hearts that follow him.
As BELIEVERS✝️, we can’t sit back. We must PROTECT🛡️ our homes, TEACH📖 our kids, and MODEL👣 what it means to walk in the LIGHT🌞. And we must PRAY🙏🏾—for those who SPEW HATE💔, that God would REDEEM🕊️ and TRANSFORM them.
Don’t let the ENEMY👿 sneak into your home through a podcast 🎧 or a video clip 🎬. Stay ALERT⚠️. Influence matters!
📖 Scriptures to Meditate On🙏🏾
🕊️“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” (Prov 4:23)
🕊️“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Rom 12:21)
🕊️“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” (Eph 5:11)

In today’s digital era, influence extends far beyond traditional sources like family and community leaders. Podcasts, social media platforms, and video content creators often have louder voices than ever before, shaping the thoughts and values of individuals—especially young people. This makes it essential for families and believers to be vigilant about the influences allowed within their homes. One striking example is the impact of public figures who, due to their large platforms, can either uplift or tear down. When someone like former NFL player Channing Crowder chooses to mock rather than celebrate positive examples such as Steelers QB Russell Wilson—who honors his wife, family, and faith—it sends a powerful, yet unfortunate message. This kind of poor influence can sow seeds of negativity and division among impressionable followers. Believers have a responsibility to protect their households by actively teaching their children to discern the content they consume and to model behaviors that reflect walking 'in the light.' It’s more than just avoidance; it is about cultivating an environment of love, faith, and critical awareness. Prayers for those spreading harmful messages are also a key part of transforming hostile voices into instruments of change. Scriptures like Proverbs 4:23 remind us to 'guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it,' emphasizing the profound connection between internal well-being and external actions. Romans and Ephesians encourage overcoming evil with good and exposing darkness rather than remaining passive. Parents and believers today must also stay alert for subtle forms of negative influence disguised in seemingly innocent podcasts or video clips, ensuring these media do not become gateways for spiritual harm. Establishing open conversations, setting healthy media boundaries, and fostering prayerful resilience are vital strategies. Ultimately, influence matters in shaping the next generation’s mindset and morals. The community must unite with prayer, teaching, and modeling to ensure that young hearts are nurtured with positive, uplifting messages that reflect faith and love rather than hate or division.
