The Shepherd Who Never Let Me Go

Good morning my beautiful family ☀️💛. Today I found myself sitting with John 10:11, where Jesus says, “I am the good Shepherd.” And when we hear the word SHEPHERD, we usually think about sheep 🐑—but if we’re honest, that’s US. We are the ones He watches, protects, guides, and cares for DAILY 🕊️.
What struck me most is that Jesus didn’t say He’s just a shepherd…He said He’s the GOOD SHEPHERD ✨. A Shepherd who doesn’t run when things get hard 🚫🏃🏾♀️. A Shepherd who doesn’t abandon His flock when they mess up 💔➡️❤️. A Shepherd who literally LAYED DOWN HIS LIFE ✝️ for the very ones He was caring for.
As I reflected, I couldn’t help but think about all the times I cried out to Jesus 😭🙏🏾. Some of those moments were dark 🌑. Some were messy 🧩. And yes—some were situations I PUT MYSELF IN 😔. Did I always escape consequences? No. But I’m STILL HERE 🫶🏾—and that’s proof He SAVED ME over and over again 🔁❤️.
And then there were those moments when, like sheep, I WANDERED 🐑➡️🌾. I stepped away from safety. I left the flock. I drifted. Yet the GOOD SHEPHERD CAME AFTER ME 🚶🏾♂️❤️. He found me. He rescued me. He brought me back.
The greatest rescue of all was the CROSS ✝️—where Jesus saved ALL of us from sin and made a way for relationship with God 🌈. And even today, He continues to SAVE, GUIDE, and PROTECT believers and new believers alike 🛡️💖. That’s what a GOOD SHEPHERD does.
