It’s Not All About You!

✨A Light 💡in the Night🌙

Good evening family 🤍🙏🏾

Tonight’s reminder is simple, but stretching: it’s not all about you.

We pray, “Lord, USE me. Use me for Your GLORY. Advance Your KINGDOM.” And we mean it. But most of us picture being used in ways that feel affirming and comfortable. We don’t imagine that being used might involve PRESSURE, stretching, or walking through something that costs us our comfort.

Psalm 66 says God REFINES us like silver through FIRE and WATER. Fire isn’t pleasant. Water that rises isn’t easy. But refinement is intentional. Sometimes the tension we experience isn’t about our failure. It’s about POSITIONING. It may not be correction. It may be assignment.

When we stop asking, “Why is this happening to me?” and start asking, “Lord, how are You working through me?” that’s where PRAISE begins. David was used, but he was chased. Joseph was used, but he was betrayed. Paul was used, but he was imprisoned. Being USED is rarely comfortable, but it is always purposeful. And if He sustained you in it, that alone is praise-worthy 🙏🏾✨.

... Read moreReflecting on the idea that "it's not all about you" has been a transformative journey for me. Often, when life places challenges or pressures on us, my first reaction was to question why I was singled out or what I might have done wrong. But I've come to understand that these moments of discomfort are often not punishments but opportunities for positioning and growth. Psalm 66’s imagery of God refining us like silver through fire and water resonates deeply. Fire represents trials that test our faith; water symbolizes the overwhelming situations that challenge our patience and resolve. These aren't mere obstacles but intentional processes that prepare us for our purpose. Recognizing this helped me shift from feeling victimized to embracing the assignment God has for me. I recall times when praying to be 'used for God's glory' felt like a request for easy tasks or affirming roles. Instead, I found that being 'used' often meant stepping into seasons of uncertainty, sacrifice, or vulnerability—just as biblical figures like David, Joseph, and Paul experienced. Each endured hardships yet fulfilled their divine calling, reminding me that discomfort is part of spiritual refinement. Practicing the mindset change from "Why is this happening to me?" to "How is God working through me?" has sparked a deeper sense of praise in my life. This shift not only eases frustration but opens my heart to trust God’s greater plan, encouraging perseverance and humility. Incorporating these reflections into daily life encourages us to view trials not as setbacks but as purposeful growth moments. Whether pressure in personal circumstances, professional challenges, or spiritual dryness, trusting God's refining fire and water leads to a stronger, more resilient faith journey. Remember, being "used" for God's kingdom might stretch you beyond your comfort zone, but it always serves a greater purpose worth embracing.

No crash diets. No magic supplements. Just real effort, discipline, and a lot of learning. I won’t lie sticking to a routine when you’re mentally drained, working full time, or just feeling drained is tough. But the truth is: your body will not wait for the “perfect time.” You only get one body
