The Gates I am careful about in 2024
As believers, we are called to be vigilant and intentional about what we allow into our lives. In today's digital age, where information and influences surround us, it is crucial to be mindful of the three gates that can shape our thoughts, words, and actions: the Eye gate, the Mouth gate, and the Ear gate.
👀 The Eye Gate: What We Watch 👀
Our eyes are windows to our souls, and what we choose to watch can have a big impact on our spiritual well-being. Let us be discerning in our media choices. I am very selective on what I watch. If you see me see one of your post and liking it or reacting to it, chances are, it doesn’t align with what I want in my life so therefore, I just kept scrolling.
💬 The Mouth Gate: What We Say 💬
Words have tremendous power. As Christians, we are called to speak with love, grace, and truth. Let our words be a reflection of Christ's teachings, spreading encouragement, kindness, and understanding to those around us. May our conversations be filled with words that build up, edify, and bring glory to God. You’ll often find me quiet. I guess it’s because I’m a very observant person. I need to see/feel one’s intentions before I engage, agree, or get involved in anything.
👂🏾 The Ear Gate: What or Who We Listen To 👂🏾
What we allow into our minds through what we hear can shape our thoughts and beliefs. Let us be careful about the voices we lend our ears to. Surround yourself with individuals who will encourage and challenge you in your personal journey with God. I listen more than I talk. One key word one says is enough for me to lose interest or even slowly remove myself from the area, equation, whatever it may be.
