When The Flesh Starts Screaming
✨A Light 💡in the Night🌙
Good evening my blessed family. 🙏🏾 Tonight I was reflecting on something the Lord showed me during my medical fast. It revealed how real the battle between the FLESH and the SPIRIT truly is. ⚔️🧠🙏🏾
While fasting, I suddenly wanted EVERYTHING. 🍰🍩🥩 Foods I had not thought about in months felt URGENT and IMPORTANT. My FLESH was loud. 📣 But once the procedure was over and I could eat anything, the cravings disappeared. Just like that. 🤯
It was in that moment that the Holy Spirit 🕊️ showed me something powerful. What I thought was DESIRE was really TEMPTATION. The FLESH was reacting to being told NO. ⚠️
Our FLESH will push us toward IMPULSE, INDULGENCE, and DISTRACTION. But the HOLY SPIRIT leads us toward DISCIPLINE, TRUTH, and LIFE. 🕊️🙏🏾
Tonight I pray we stay ANCHORED in the SPIRIT, because the FLESH will lead to DESTRUCTION, but the SPIRIT leads to PEACE. 🙌🏾
🕊️Scriptures to Meditate On🙏🏾
Galatians 5:16
Romans 8:6

During my own experiences with fasting, I've noticed how the moment the body is restricted, the cravings suddenly become overwhelming. These cravings can disguise themselves as genuine desires but are often temptations that test our willpower and spiritual strength. For instance, the urge for cookies or indulgent foods can feel urgent and all-consuming, much like the "GROCERY COOKIEEEESS!! JUST ONE BOX! I GOTTA HAVE IT!" impulse. Recognizing these as the 'flesh' screaming is the first step toward overcoming them. What really helps me is framing these moments as opportunities to listen more intently to the Holy Spirit rather than reacting impulsively. This spiritual discipline strengthens my resolve and brings clarity amidst the noise of temptation. Additionally, meditating on scriptures such as Galatians 5:16 and Romans 8:6 reinforces the contrast between fleshly desires and spiritual life. It reminds me that walking in the Spirit is not just about saying no to cravings but about cultivating truth, peace, and purposeful living. Through these personal reflections, I've learned that the battle between flesh and spirit is ongoing and deeply real. However, by anchoring myself in prayer, scripture, and mindful discipline, the seemingly urgent cravings begin to fade quickly after the fast. This inner peace is profound, turning what felt like destruction into a nourishing spiritual life. Sharing this journey of fasting and temptation shows that while the flesh may scream loudly, the Spirit offers a guiding, peaceful voice worth following.
