Remember My Son Zay’Carrius Reed ( Zay )
Losing a loved one is one of the most profound experiences we can face, and sharing memories can be a powerful way to keep their spirit alive. Writing about my son Zay’Carrius Reed has been both a healing and heartfelt journey for me. When I think about Zay, I remember not just the moments we shared but also the unique qualities that made him who he was — his kindness, his laughter, and the way he touched the lives of those around him. In my experience, creating a personal tribute is a therapeutic process that helped me reflect on the impact Zay had on my life and the lives of others. I found that including little stories or describing specific moments made the tribute more vivid and meaningful, helping me and others to connect emotionally. It's also important to be honest about the feelings involved — loss, love, and even hope — as these emotions resonate with many who read such reflections. I encourage anyone who has faced a similar loss to take time to remember their loved one in their own way, be it through writing, creating art, or sharing stories verbally. This practice not only honors the memory of those we've lost but also helps us cope by expressing feelings that might otherwise remain unspoken. Furthermore, connecting with support groups or communities can provide comfort, as they offer a space to share experiences and gain understanding. Remembering Zay is a daily part of my life, and by sharing these memories, I hope to celebrate his life and inspire others to cherish their own loved ones.
