Lex talk about it🤭 #happysunday #lextlkaboutit
Lately, I've found myself wondering if the world is actually becoming more dangerous, or if we simply have more access to information about global events than ever before. In my opinion, it's a mix of both but heavily leans towards increased exposure due to technology and media. With the rise of social media and 24/7 news coverage, we hear about violent incidents, natural disasters, and political conflicts instantly. This constant flow of information can create a heightened sense of fear and danger because we are more aware of what’s happening around the world, not just in our local area. However, when you look at statistics over time, many measures of safety—like crime rates in several countries—have actually decreased. Advances in medicine, technology, and community programs also contribute to safer living environments. Personally, this awareness has made me more cautious but also more compassionate. Knowing about challenges faced by people worldwide encourages me to stay informed, support causes, and take proactive steps towards personal safety and community well-being. I appreciate discussions like these because they remind us to differentiate between perception and reality. It’s important to balance staying informed with maintaining a positive outlook on the progress humanity has made in creating safer societies.
