Wintermoon Vampire Tale: This book was truly a test of Amari and Carla's love. Carla Blackwood is Queen of Limbo, but rules the realm of lost souls. Nathaniel, a vengeful spirit with stolen Blackwood magic, is building an army to destroy Wintermoon. His target? Baby Solomon. His weapon? Possessed shifter children. His ally? Henry, the man who's been hiding in the shadows of Brookstone and Blackburn.
Mother Fate offers Carla a terrible bargain: ascend to Guardian of Realms and gain the power to stop Nathaniel, or watch her family burn. The catch? Ascending means leaving the living world behind, bound to limbo. It means endless separation from Amari, the vampire mate whose love has become her anchor.
I felt so sorry for Amari and Carla because both of them wanted a regular life with their spider children, but Mother Fate had other plans in store for them. Carla has to figure out how to balance being the Queen of Limbo, stopping Nathaniel, and not losing Amari in the process. That's a lot of work. Amari feels lost without Carla; he fears he may lose her forever, but Amari must face the acceptance of her absence, which is a test of the strength of their love. Anora, I'm tired of her. She was born from dark magic. She is a ticking bomb. I don’t like how she came at Carla. There are cousins. She said that if she didn’t handle Nathaniel, she would basically destroy the world. I like it when Carla became ascend, she became a badass, and it gave her more confidence. Don't get it wrong; she was already bad, but this is taking it to a level beyond hers. The Blackwood cousins, Carla, Anora, and Angie, would have to come togather to build a coven. This coven will rule over Wintermoon, creating a haven that makes the land untouchable. I hope we get to see that happen. I like that Carla Claims Amari again, it was like a new beginning for them. I’m so happy that Carla and Amari found the balance they needed to be together. It’s different than everybody else in Wintermoon, but it works for them. This is not the end of their journey. I’m eager for the next book.
