Chiang Mai for seven days and get yourself back.
Some trips don't take us out to find answers.
But it brings us back to ourselves. 🍃
In the middle of this year, we decided to go to Chiang Mai alone for about a week.
At first I didn't expect much.
I just want to get away with the chaos, the mountains, the cold weather, the good music and the people who didn't have to know us before.
But in the end, there was a lot more going on in those seven days than I thought.
This is Doolay.
For us, this place doesn't feel like a homestand, but it's like we're walking into another house where people are coming across.
Some people come alone.
Some people come with friends.
Some people are very different ages.
But when you sit down and eat, play games, listen to music, or go on trips together, strangers slowly disappear.
What we like best is that this place doesn't force us to be anything.
Want to talk, talk
Want to laugh and laugh
Want to sit quietly and look at the mountain
For people who have lived with acceleration, thought and expectation, it's great to have some space like that for themselves.
🛶 First Trip - Bootleg Bird Trip
That day, they were kayaking, dabbling, eating, and spending time with people who were barely known before.
In the group, there are people of very different ages, but strangely, everyone gets along incredibly well.
There is no sense of trying to be too part of the group, everything happens by itself, from teasing, laughing, helping and getting wet together, hahahaha.
It reminds us that
Friendships sometimes don't have to take years.
Only by being in the right place at the right time and being ourselves and the person in front of us can it happen, too.
🎶 Another trip - a tallow and varnish writing trip.
The atmosphere is different from the first trip.
From daylight in the middle of the river.
Become mountains, fog, rain, wooden houses and music at night.
There were nights when everyone was sitting around listening to music and talking.
Some are quiet.
Some moments laugh very loudly.
It's still raining.
Winter, find something to cover
One song ends, the other begins.
We really like that feeling.
Because it's not just about going to "see the artist," it's like music is gradually becoming part of the place, the people and the memories of that night.
And for seven days, we didn't just have fun.
There were tired days.
The day many thoughts in life came back louder.
And the day we said something that was kept crying,
But strangely enough, we don't feel like a tourist.
Dulele feels more like another house.
It's a house where we don't have to rush to collect emotions.
Don't be okay all the time.
Want to laugh and laugh
Want to be quiet is quiet
And if one day it's heavy, there's room to put it down.
Looking back, we felt that these moments were important, not losing fun days.
Because this trip makes us understand more that
Taking care of ourselves doesn't mean we have to make ourselves happy all the time.
Sometimes self-care is to accept that.
We can't today.
Is to let yourself cry
Is to lie down without feeling guilty.
Is to laugh with someone you've known for a long time.
Or just looking at the fog without rushing to find the answer to life.
In the past, we thought that traveling alone was proof
"I can be alone."
But this trip also taught us that
Traveling alone doesn't mean we have to be alone all the way.
We can leave alone.
And at the same time, it also opens up new friendships.
Some people may only be in our lives for a few days.
Some conversations might end after we get home.
But some of the feelings, some of the words, or some of the moments he left with us could last a lot longer.
If asked what we got back from Chiang Mai this time,
It's not a big answer to where life is going.
Just come back and listen to yourself a little better.
Dare to rest a little more.
Know what you want and want nothing clearer.
And remember again,
We don't always have to rush to have answers for everything in life.
For those who are righteous, like the atmosphere of the house, like to meet new people, and not just looking for a beautiful place to live, but like to "live with the place."
We'd like to introduce you to Dulele once.
Especially if thinking of coming alone
Don't be afraid of being lonely.
Because maybe we can come to Chiang Mai alone.
But when going back
Maybe there's a bag full of photos.
Narrative
Friendship
And another version of ourselves that understands himself a little more.
Some trips take us far.
Some trips bring us back to ourselves. 🍃
